24 Hour Home Care Plans to Lay Off 738 Employees

El Segundo, CALIFORNIA—24 Hour Home Care plans to permanently lay off 738 employees effective Sept. 15, according to a California state employment filing. 

The home health company filed the plans through a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) report, which California employers must do within a 30-day period if there are any layoffs that impact 50 or more workers. 

24 Hour Home Care currently employs approximately 30,000 caregivers throughout California’s 58 counties, providing services to aging adults, veterans, and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 

The company was acquired by TEAM Services Group (TEAM), a portfolio company of Alpine Investors, in 2021. TEAM was then acquired in April by private equity firm General Atlantic for $3 billion. 

TEAM is a San Diego, California-based company that offers agency-based home care and household employment services—including payroll and HR solutions. It also provides financial management services for consumer-directed care.
