LENEXA, Kan. (Nov. 5, 2014)—Mediware Information Systems Inc. is hosting a free webinar to discuss the importance of audits in the HME industry and how to prepare yourself for the days ahead.
The webinar, entitled “Putting the Brakes on a Medicare Audit: Are You Prepared,” is presented by Mary Ellen Conway, president and consultant of the Capital Healthcare Group, and focuses on the multiple types of audits that are surfacing surrounding pre- and post-payment audits, such as CERT, ZPC, and RAC, as well as supplier specific audits.
Understanding how to appropriately respond to these audits can put the brakes on the auditor and allow the supplier to get back to the business of taking care of patients as quickly as possible. From this presentation, attendees will learn the background of current audit issues, understand Medicare's "weapons,” provide examples of prescriber and supplier medical records that are needed, describe documentation needed to submit for audits, and provide examples of common errors found in audits.
