The company also received recognition for having excellent managers.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (July 6, 2017)—Named the second best out of 109 midsize companies, Pediatric Home Service (PHS) has been recognized for the seventh year in a row in the Star Tribune’s annual ranking of the Top 150 Workplaces in Minnesota. This year, PHS also received a special award for having the best managers.

Top Workplaces recognizes the most progressive companies in Minnesota based on a confidential employee survey measuring benefits, pay, work/life balance, as well as the company’s leadership and employee engagement. The survey also asks where the company is headed, its values and cooperation, how the company is getting where it aims to go, whether employees feel appreciated and whether their work is meaningful.

Kelli Ramirez, HR Manager at Pediatric Home Service, said PHS truly takes the time to listen to their employees. “We encourage them to seek learning opportunities and strive to create a work environment where people feel comfortable, work hard and have fun.”

Ramirez went on to say that PHS focuses on creating a culture where employees feel valued and appreciated, knowing that everyone plays a key part in achieving the company’s vision.

The 2017 analysis included responses from over 69,000 employees at Minnesota public, private and nonprofit organizations. The results of the Star Tribune Top Workplaces are based on survey information collected by Workplace Dynamics, an independent company specializing in employee engagement and retention.

Mark Hamman, President of Pediatric Home Service, said that homecare is the future of health care, so creating a culture that people enjoy being part of is vital to recruiting and retaining employees.

“We want PHS to be an environment that makes employees want to come and stay. One where they feel supported and enjoy coming to work every day. We want them to stay for their entire career, and many of our employees have,” said Hamman.
