The National Association of Independent Medical Equipment Suppliers (NAIMES) is organizing a YouTube Blitz to show the adverse affects of Round 2 of the Competitive Bidding Program.

The organization wants providers to create videos that are 3 minutes or less, using a digital camera or FLIP video recorder rather than a cell phone. Providers are asked to use the video to explain how and why the program will harm their businesses.

When making the video, identify the person speaking, the company, number of employees, location and the impact of competitive bidding. Open the dialog with the words “DME competitive bidding will harm my small business.” This helps in the search process.

NAIMES lists these possible focal points for the video:
• Will you be unable to bid due to licensure issues?
• Is the bid area too big for you to cover?
• Will you bid at all and why?
• Will you close if you can’t bid or don’t win?
• Will you down-size?
• Will you lay off staff?
• Will you sell if you can find a buyer?
Post your video on YouTube at no cost. Once posted, send links to your local newspapers and congressional representatives.
