ATLANTA, (July 20, 2015)—The Complex Rehab Pavilion is back once again at Medtrade—this time with support from the University of Pittsburgh's Department of Rehabilitation Science & Technology Continuing Education (RSTce), organizers of the International Seating Symposium (ISS). RSTce will also be presenting educational sessions for technicians and clinicians.
The RSTce Advancing Mobility Complex Rehab Pavilion is a grouping of booths sharing the common theme—equipment and services designed to meet the complex needs of patients with significant mobility and postural deficits.
The move is motivated by survey results that indicated attendees at Medtrade had an increasingly healthy interest in rehab and mobility products, with 31% interested in power chairs. More than 80% of attendees are involved in the buying process, making the show an attractive venue for related manufacturers.
“At Medtrade this fall [scheduled for Oct 26-29 at the Georgia World Congress Center], we have sessions dedicated to assist providers on how to prepare proper claims for PMD,” says Mark Schmeler, PhD, OTR/L, ATP, assistant professor, School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Pittsburgh. “This specifically includes a session by an interdisciplinary panel of expert providers and clinicians who will discuss roles and responsibilities in the process.”
