Kevin Fly Hill, a respiratory therapist and operator of CPS Medical in Texas, has been named recipient of the Robert Arado Outstanding Advocate Award, sponsored by the Accredited Medical Equipment Providers of America.

Hill became president in 2011 of the Texas Alliance of Home Care Services (TAHCS). He worked with his local Congressman, Rep. Louie Gohmert, who signed onto HR-1041, which would repeal competitive bidding. Last fall, Hill educated the staff of Rep. Jeb Hensarling, a member of the so-called super committee on the national deficit, about the Market Pricing Program in the hopes that MPP would be included in any super committee legislation.

Hill began his career as a respiratory therapist in 1973 at Breckenridge Hospital in Austin, Texas. In 1980 he started CPS Medical in Tyler, Texas. Over the last 30 years CPS has expanded to three locations. Hill’s location in Henderson County borders the Dallas Competitive Bidding Area.
