Three of the 10 highest paid CEOs in 2010 were from the health care provider and services industry, according to the annual GMI CEO Pay Survey.

The survey looked at realized compensation, which includes annual compensation, change in pension and nondeferred compensation, value realized in exercising options and retirement plan values.

John H. Hammergren, who heads the health company McKesson Corp., had $145,266,971 in total realized income in 2001. That placed him atop the Top 10 list for all CEOs.

Joel F. Gemunder, who heads Omnicare, had $98,283,242 in total realized income, placing him second on the Top 10 list. And Ronald A. Williams, who heads Aetna Inc., had $57,787,786 in total realized income, placing him eighth on the Top 10 list.
