SPRING HOUSE, Penn. (July 22, 2014)—Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), in a letter dated July 10, 2014, has formally approved The Compliance Team’s (TCT) accreditation program for HME/ DMEPOS.
AHCA's approval means that both in state and out-of-state HME/DMEPOS providers who wish to do business in Florida can now use The Compliance Team’s accreditation services as a formally recognized means to meet the state’s provider licensure requirements without having to incur a visit from the State.
Although The Compliance Team is approved by the federal government’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) as a national accrediting organization for providers of Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, Supplies (DMEPOS) recently enacted Florida law requires that AHCA ensure that accreditation organizations incorporate into their quality standards Florida’s licensing regulations for HME providers.
