MILWAUKEE (Oct. 16, 2014)—November marks National Diabetes Month, and Dr. Comfort is helping to raise awareness of diabetes.

As a therapeutic footwear company, the fight against diabetes is very important to us,” said Rob Heglin, product manager at Dr. Comfort. “National Diabetes Month puts diabetes on the national and international stage. We’re happy to do our part to raise awareness and funds, with the goal of one day ending diabetes for good.”

For the remainder of the year, Dr. Comfort is donating $10 to the American Diabetes Association for every pair of shoes sold from their newest athletic shoe line. These extra-depth diabetic shoes feature a virtually seamless design and lightweight construction. The Men’s styles come in an array of colors, including black, grey, blue and red. Women’s styles are multicolored, with combinations from green and turquoise to pink and blue. Made for those with diabetes, the shoes are designed to help prevent more serious complications for those at risk. The shoes come with rubber inserts at the toe and heel, as well as standard laces.

As another step towards its battle against diabetes, Dr. Comfort has joined the American Diabetes Association’s Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes as a National Team in 2014. Dr. Comfort will have a booth and corporate team at 12 of this year’s Step Out Walks. Four of these walks take place during National Diabetes Month:
• Cincinnati, Ohio, Nov. 1
• San Diego, Calif., Nov. 2
• Austin, Texas, Nov. 8
• Portland, Ore., Nov. 22
