ATLANTA (June 23, 2016)—Brightree, a provider of cloud-based software that improves clinical and business performance of post-acute care companies, announced new executive appointments to the company’s leadership team, which come as a result of its acquisition by ResMed earlier this year.

Matt Mellott will become the company’s new chief executive officer. In addition, Bobby Ghoshal will serve as Brightree’s new chief operating officer.

Mellott joins Brightree from MedBridge Healthcare, the sleep disorder diagnostic testing and respiratory therapy provider he co-founded in 2004. Mellott has served as MedBridge’s president since 2008. During his 12 years with the company, Mellott and his team grew MedBridge into an organization that now operates 140 sleep disorder centers and 21 HME locations across 22 states. Prior to MedBridge, Mellott served in a variety of executive finance leadership and chief financial officer roles. He began his career with KPMG. Mellott holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola University, Baltimore.

“I could not be more excited to join Brightree at this time in the company’s history,” said Mellott. “Leading a home medical equipment provider has helped shape my understanding of what post-acute care providers value in a software partner. I’m looking forward to sharing those insights, accelerating Brightree’s already impressive pace of innovation, and further enhancing its customers’ ability to deliver exceptional care while building lasting businesses.”

With Mellott’s appointment as CEO, current Brightree president and CEO Dave Cormack will transition to a multi-year advisory role. Cormack joined Brightree in 2005 and led the company through a period of tremendous growth, taking what was then a fledgling software-as-a-service startup with 12 employees and fewer than 100 customers into an industry leader with revenues exceeding $100 million annually.

“The Brightree team has accomplished many amazing things in the last 11 years and I’ve been privileged to lead the company during that time,” said Cormack. “I’m delighted to welcome Matt to Brightree. He has been a highly successful leader in the HME industry, bringing with him fast-growth experience, and an excellent understanding of our customers’ needs.”

Brightree also announced today that Bobby Ghoshal will serve as its chief operating officer. As COO, Ghoshal will oversee Brightree’s technology, product management initiatives, business operations and finance functions. An experienced information technology executive, Ghoshal was previously vice president of information technology in ResMed’s Americas group.

ResMed acquired Brightree in April 2016. Brightree will operate as a separate entity, managed independently with its headquarters in Atlanta.
