UXBRIDGE, Mass. (April 15, 2014)—Better Rest Solutions, creator of the SoClean 2 CPAP Cleaning and Sanitizing Machine, announced that it will donate $5 to the American Sleep Apnea Association (ASAA) for every SoClean 2 sold from April 15 to May 15 in recognition of Sleep Apnea Awareness Day.

Sleep Apnea Awareness Day takes place annually on April 18, marking a significant day in the history of treatment for obstructive sleep apnea. On April 18, 1981, Professor Colin Sullivan, inventor of the Continuous Positive Air Pressure (CPAP) machine, published the results of a study that demonstrated the effectiveness of CPAP therapy for sleep apnea sufferers and revolutionized treatment of this disorder.

More than 18 million Americans have been diagnosed with sleep apnea, a disorder that causes people to stop breathing in their sleep and, if untreated, can lead to serious health complications including heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke and diabetes.

Better Rest Solutions created the SoClean 2 to make it easy for CPAP users to safely and naturally clean and sanitize their equipment, effectively removing 99.9 percent of CPAP mold, bacteria and viruses.

The ASAA is a nonprofit organization that advocates for the interests of patients who are affected by sleep apnea, making it the ideal recipient of Better Rest Solutions’ donations. Visit betterrestsolutions.com and sleepapnea.org for more information.
